The smallest things can signal your brain in—or out—of work mode: getting dressed in the morning, having a simple routine or activity you do every day after you finish work, and having a designated space for your home office. If you have no way of creating a separate office space, consider other practical barriers you can use to create a sense of separation. This could look like installing a curtain to divide the space in a room, putting work items away in a designated place when you’re done, or having your workspace in a closet or cabinet so you can close it off.
