The standard employment contract in Italy is an open-ended contract in which there is no fixed-term and employment is indefinite, as long as the employer and the employee continue to agree to the conditions of the contract.
Alternative employment contract in Italy: Fixed-term contract
The fixed-term contract in Italy is an alternative employment contract option. Fixed-term contracts are for a limited period of time which must be a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 24 months. These contracts can be renewed up to 4 times but only up to 24 months in total.
